On-Call

🔔 Configurable On-Call Shift Reminders

🔔 Configurable On-Call Shift Reminders

What’s more jarring than getting paged when you didn’t even know you were on call? Luckily for Rootly users, this isn’t something you need to worry about. You can choose exactly when and how you want to be notified that your on-call shifts are starting or ending.

Head to On-Call > Notifications in the Rootly web platform and select the time frame and method(s) for receiving your notifications. You can choose from email, SMS, Slack (or all three if you want to be extra careful). You’ll receive a notification letting you know which schedule(s) you’re going on-call for and when. We’ll only notify you for active schedules, meaning if you’re on an on-call schedule that isn’t in use (e.g. not connected to an escalation policy), we won’t send a notification.

If you're a user of the Rootly mobile app, you can even customize the sound for your shift reminders from the app, under Settings > Sounds:

Shift Reminders are enabled by default, so we encourage you to pop into your On-Call Notification settings and make sure they’re configured to your liking.

🌝 New & Improved

🆕 New workflow triggers added. Now workflows can be triggered when a specific incident role is updated and when an incident’s privacy setting changes.

🆕 Customers on Slack Enterprise can now use workflows to programmatically convert a public Slack channel to a private channel.

🆕 Google Cloud Observability can now integrate to Rootly On-Call as an alert source.

💅 Improved the behavior of IS operator on workflow run conditions. Previously the IS operator will only check against the first value from the selected list of value(s). Now, the IS operator will check against all selected values.

🐛 Fixed inability to filter by custom fields on Retrospectives page.

🐛 Fixed intermittent issue with some users receiving notifications on purposely skipped retrospective steps.

🐛 Fixed various web UI display issues with long texts overrunning their intended display areas.
